Web Quest: A Web Quest is a lesson or report that makes
the assumption that you are on a journey for information on a certain
subject. Almost all of the information
comes from the Internet (Web) or documents that are found on the Internet and
you will be using a variety of different programs to complete your Web Quest.
Task
You will create a five page (not posts) blog about the merging of computers and robotics in our society today. You
will research an aspect of the subject and then write about it. For example:
Evidence of companies combining computers with robotics
The benefits of combining computers with robots

The future of robotics
·
The pages shall be organized in this manner:
1.
Introduction
– You will write a 350 word introduction explaining what your 5 page blog is
about. The Introduction should at least
contain the following elements :
a.
350 words
b.
A link to the next page
c.
Relevant pictures
d.
You may add as many elements as you like using
the “gadget” features in Google’s Blogger.
2.
Video and Picture Page – You will add a
total of four relevant pictures to your project and one relevant video as
well. Each item will be accompanied by a
60 word explanation telling the reader what the picture or video is about and
why you selected them. There are many
creative ways you could display your pictures.
For example, you could create a PowerPoint slide show using SlideShare. See an example of SlideShare here: PowerPoint

3. Discovery Page – On this page you will
write about 3 things that you did not know about your subject before you
started working on it. You may use
pictures, videos, other people’s slide shows or any other device you can find
on the Web. Each item must be accompanied by 150 words that tell what it is
that you learned by doing research on the Internet.
4. Resources Page – On this page, you will
site your resources and provide links to the pages that you got the information
from. You will need at least five
different sources and the sources must be from five totally different websites.

5. Conclusion Page - On this page you will
write a 300 word conclusion to your project and provide pictures, links and any
other device that you will need to use to finish your project with.
Alternative Assignment: If for some reason, you cannot use Google’s
Blogger, you may print up and turn in your assignment in a word processor format;
however, the assignment will be 500
words for each page.
Resources to use:
Blogger – This is the
easiest blog to use in the world. Powered
by Google, it will enable you to make and design a blog in a matter of minutes
SlideShare
– This is a website that allows you to put a PowerPoint presentation on your
blog in no time.
YouTube – This is also
controlled by Google and you can embed videos very easily by using this online
video sharing website.
Wikipedia – This site
is like a live, updated encyclopedia.
Not only can you use it as a source of information, but it has great
links to other online resources.
